Dear Parents & Carers,
I am sure that we are all becoming aware of the increased number of Covid-19 cases in our local area (as is the case nationwide). Over the coming days, weeks and months, we will inevitably have pupils and families who have either been contacts with someone with Coronavirus, have symptoms of it or indeed have been confirmed as having contracted this awful virus.
Working with staff and governors, we have decided to take the following additional measures with effect from the morning of Thursday 5th November 2020:
- All adults dropping off / picking up from school (less those with medical reasons) must wear masks on school grounds (unless remaining in their vehicle). Staff on duty outside of school at these time will also wear masks.
- Those picking up / dropping off who are not socially distancing will be asked to do so (I need reminding myself sometimes).
- We will be increasing the regularity of our spot temperature checking of pupils and staff.
- When TAs are working in really close proximity to pupils for extended period of times, they will wear visors.
Please remember that pick-up times continue to be 3.20pm for Diamond & Topaz Class children (and their older siblings) and 3.30pm for Ruby and Sapphire Class children.
I am sorry for this inconvenience. However, my intentions are to protect the health of our pupils, families and staff as much as I can.
As a reminder, the 3 symptoms we are looking for as far as COVID-19 is concerned, are:
- A new continuous cough
- A high temperature or fever (37.8 degrees or above)
- A loss, or change in, sense of smell or taste.
Any pupil displaying any of these symptoms must isolate for 10 days or until they have a negative test result. Anyone sharing a household with someone displaying symptoms is to self-isolate for 14 days or until that household member has had a negative test result.
If your child(ren) is/are displaying symptoms, please do phone Lou in the office, we can then pass on the very latest advice.
Finally, to offer some kind of reassurance, whilst we have a very few adults cases and some confirmed contacts in our wider school community, as I write this, we have had no confirmed cases in either pupils or staff.
Take care,
Nigel Roberts Headteacher
