25.9.24 Year 1 Art Learning

Today in Art we learnt about the artist: Emma Johnson.

We used her art work as a stimulus for our own art work.  For example, we put a river on our maps, based on this image.

Our favourite pieces were ones with bridges.

Emma Johnson works with maps and paper to create 3D layered art.

25.9.24 Today we explored mark making using chalk in Reception...
2.10.24 Today in Reception we explored observational drawing and sketching.

2.10.24 WALT experiment with a craft technique to develop an idea

Abstract – Art where the subject doesn’t necessarily look like it does in real life.

Stained Glass – Coloured glass that is used to make pictures of patterns in windows.

Today we made an abstract composition.  We thought about shapes and lines.  We had to cut, layer and arrange shapes.  We also challenged Mr Roberts to look at our Abstract art and see what he thought our art work portrayed.

9.10.24

Learning objective

  • To develop ideas and apply craft skills when printmaking.

Success criteria

  • I can use simple lines and shapes from my map drawing to design a printing tile.
  • I can make choices about how to use my prints to make an artwork.
We enjoyed learning about printing today... a new skill for us.  We also enjoyed continuing our map themed art learning... can you spot our finished prints?  What do they represent?
