Y1 Diamonds Science - Carnivore, Herbivore or Omnivore?
Today the Y1 pupils in Diamonds learned about animal diets, and how they can be sorted into Carnivores, Herbivores and Omnivores. After sorting some toy animals into the right groups, we then had lots of fun being science detectives, investigating some fake animal poo! (Don't worry, it was playdough really!)
We looked for clues that would tell us if the animal droppings had belonged to a carnivore, herbivore or an omnivore. The children found things such as bones, fur, shells, seeds, fruit peel and even feathers!
