Inspirational visitor: Claire Allen
All Saints were very lucky to be visited today by Claire Allen. Claire is recently back having just completed the amazing challenge of walking around the UK. In the process Claire raised £25,000 for Shelter and deservedly was awarded The Just Giving Endurance Fundraiser of the Year 2024.
The pupils listened avidly as she talked about some of the hardships (finding somewhere to stay, missing home and the midges) as well as some of the happier times (glorious views, meeting lovely people and having a constant supply of ice creams as she walked the coast).
Inspired by her difficulties and discomfort at not having a fixed home, Claire decided to raise money and awareness of homelessness by supporting Shelter.
She talked of the need of perseverance and resilience. Hopefully some of this will rub off on the All Saints School Community as we try to raise money for Shelter on Friday 7th February when we will be sleeping rough in the school grounds and in our gardens at home. Good luck everyone.
