Autumn 2 - Y1 Geography: Would you rather live in a Hot or a Cold place?
 
This half term we have been learning the name of the continents and oceans, as well as all about the equator and the north/south poles.  

We have compared hot climates and cold climates to our own climate, and also learned how to use a compass to find North.

'All Around the World'
This term we have explored what features and landscapes can be found both at home in England, and all around the world.

Guess Who!

Today we compared photos of ourselves in the past (as babies) to photos of ourselves from the present.  We talked about how we had all changed over time and how we are able to recognise ourselves and others.  
Spring 1 (Y1) History
Toys Now and Then
 
This term we have explored the similarities and differences between toys from today and toys in the past.  We finished the unit by creating our own Toy Museum in class!
Spring 2 (Y1) Geography
Weather, Seasons and The United Kingdom
 
This term we are learning about the countries and capital cities of the UK.   We are also exploring the weather and how this is recorded, as well as the difference in temperature and weather across the UK.
 
We have kept weather diaries, learned to use compasses, and learned to use the contents pages of atlases.  
 
At the end of the unit we are going to try and make a weather report video to share.
