World Book Day is never enough... in fact we like to recognise the importance of books and read for pleasure daily at All Saints.
This week we have dedicated to World Book Week ... read on to find out what we have all got up to!
On Tuesday, Diamonds and Topaz enjoyed story telling in Forest School. They created their own 'forest microphone' and then proceeded to story tell with a partner...
Diamonds Class spent a day exploring the gorgeous book, 'The Rabbit Problem' by Emily Gravett. It is presented in the style of a calendar with a different problem each month. Watch our video to see how Diamonds helped the rabbits to solve their problems.
Today we learnt in mixed age groups - in Diamonds we explored The Odd Egg. We have created a whole school display in the library, celebrating our uniqueness.
Well done All Saints for respecting everybody - whatever they look like.

In Sapphire Class, we read Slinky Malinki, blacker than black, he was a stalking and lurking adventurous cat. After discussing some of the wonderful language describing this rapscallion cat, we had great fun recreating some of the objects he pilfered for a group collage.
On Wednesday, our class text was Little Bunny Foo Foo by Michael Morpurgo (in Diamonds)... we enjoyed creating our own Goonies and wrote letters the the Good Fairy in role as the Rabbit to apologies for our behaviour! We also had a go at bopping words in our phonics learning, just like Bunny Foo Foo does!
On Thursday in Diamonds class, our theme was Julia Donaldson books. We enjoyed reading lots of her books and learning through COOL time (choosing our own learning).
We had castle small play linked to Zog.
We had perfume and potions in the mud kitchen linked to Room on the Broom.
We had A Squash and a Squeeze in the farming barn.
We had Stripy out with a whale stranded in the sandpit for a Whale and the Snail.
We had subitising ladybirds for What the ladybird heard...
We had worm making using wool as well as pipecleaners and beads for Super worm.
We had measuring worms and worm hunting for Super Worm.
And just because that wasn't enough... we also had Gruffolo baking! Yum Yum!
